Residential Roofing Training From Industry Leader GAF
Our residential training comes from GAF, an acknowledged leader in asphalt shingle manufacturing. GAF is super picky about who they let sell their products. And they’re just as picky about who they train.
How does Freetail Roofing gain access to this exclusive training? We’re certified by GAF as Master Elite installers.
This means that we’re in the top 3% of all roofers in North America. It also means that GAF is committed to providing the time and resources we need to maintain our industry-leading skills.
What topics are covered in GAF’s annual residential roofing seminars? For our veteran roofers, much of the training is dedicated to refreshing technical skills. This helps ensure that we never get complacent and always follow current best practices.
For our new hires, the focus is on developing the ability to provide flawless roofing services. There’s a good bit of classwork involved. In addition, there’s plenty of hands-on training on mock roofs.

Commercial Roofing Training
We’re just as committed to maintaining excellence on the commercial side of Freetail Roofing. GAF is also a key partner in this area.
From our home in the Austin area, we travel to a GAF facility in North Texas. There, we participate in three-day seminars on TPO roofing, which is commonly used on low-slope commercial roofs. Half of each seminar is dedicated to hands-on training, while the other half focuses on classroom study.
We also train at the Carlisle SynTec facility in Terrell, Texas. We’re certified by Carlisle to apply their highly prized waterproofing products. Continuing education at their plant helps us maintain our elite installation standards.
Behind-the-scenes efforts like these pay off big on commercial projects of all sizes. In fact, they’re essential to our streamlined roof replacement process.
Teaching The Teachers
